In the past week

We have not posted since our Halloween party and Dance-a-thon.  It has been extremely busy since then.   In the past couple of days we have been working on a bullying video.  Every one in the class got to say why bullying is not good and we each got to write how we felt.  This was a powerful activity for us and we learned about the importance of being a good friend.

HERE IS OUR VIDEO

Coloring our background
In math, we have been working on repeating and growing patterns.  Amber describes a repeating pattern as "something that that repeats over and over again.  A pattern must have at least 3 repetitions for it to be a complete pattern."   Kylee describes a growing pattern as a "pattern that continues to get bigger and bigger."   Cayden describes how we constructed growing patterns using marshmallows and fruit loops.  It was INCREDIBLE amounts of fun.

HERE WE ARE MAKING OUR GROWING PATTERNS
Dakota describes one of our Science lessons as "zipping scissors across a magnet and when you have zipped it 50 times then your scissors become a magnet and they can pick up metal objects."  On Friday we had to predict whether an object could be picked up by a magnet.  It was a lot of fun and we noticed that the magnets would not pick up marshmallows, paper, elastics,  plastic flowers, straws, the dice and the corks.

WE ARE TESTING OBJECTS TO SEE IF THEY ARE MAGNETIC AND WE ARE ALSO MAKING OUR OWN MAGNETS
What the students students say about their learning...
Nyah states: "Learning is amazing each and every day."
Peridon states: "Bullying is not right for the world."
Meaghan states:  " You should not bully because it hurts people."
Mackenzie states: " If someone bullies you, you can maybe become a bully too."
J-F states: "We talked about how bullies make us feel."
Anna states: "We learnt that bullying can also hurt peoples feelings."
Vu states: "Never Bully!"
Justine states: "If you bully it is bad."
Chloe states: "We learnt that we should stand up for other people and ourselves."
Robyn states: "When you are being bullied try to be nice to the bully and ask them why they are bullying you."
Amber states: "Don't be a bystander!"

HOPE THAT YOU ENJOYED READING ABOUT OUR INCREDIBLE DAYS!
